Magnetic particle testing instrument


Magnetic particle testing is a commonly used non-destructive testing method that uses magnetic induction coils to generate a magnetic field on the surface of the tested object, and utilizes the adsorption properties of magnetic materials to detect internal defects or surface cracks in the material.


Magnetic particle testing is mainly based on the following two principles:


1. Magnetic principle: The magnetic field generated by the magnetic particle testing instrument can magnetize the surface of the material, forming a magnetic polarity on the material surface. The degree of magnetism is related to the magnetic permeability of the material.


When there are defects or cracks in the material, their magnetic permeability is different from that of the surrounding material, which will affect the distribution of the magnetic field.


This influence can be detected by observing the distribution of magnetic particles under the action of a magnetic field.


2. Adsorption principle: The magnetic powder used in magnetic particle testing is usually ferromagnetic powder.


After applying a magnetic field, magnetic powder will be adsorbed on the cracks or defects on the surface of the material, forming obvious visible magnetic powder deposits or lines.


This phenomenon can be identified as cracks or defects in the material by observing the distribution of magnetic particles on the surface of the tested object.


In summary, magnetic particle testing is based on the principles of magnetism and adsorption, and detects defects or cracks in materials by observing the distribution of magnetic particles on the surface of the material.


This technology is widely used in quality control and safety testing of metal products.
