Riders castings for reheating furnaces

DTL Materials Tech GmbH manufactures riders castings for walking beam furnaces and push type furnaces in various designs, typically, cobalt base alloys are the better choice for skid riders.

These statically cast rider blocks are used to carry slabs through a reheat furnace. The slabs are heated up prior to being rolled into plate or sheet.

These rider blocks are normally pinned to an underlying skid and are designed to keep the slab elevated off of the skid to avoid scratching the slab surface and provide for more even heating.

DTL Materials Tech GmbH fabricates the water beams with skid hot riders for pusher and walking beam slab reheating furnaces of hot strip mills.

Typical alloys for skid riders must be resistant to very high temperature upto 1300 degrees,our casting riders are produced for cooled and uncooled systems,  in materials UMCO 50 , Co-W alloyed Ni-base materials, typical steel grades like Co20,Co40, Co50 will work better.

DTL Materials Tech GmbH produce the skid riders by lost wax investment casting method.
